APRIROSE INVESTORS
AND ADVISORS' CHRISTMAS CHARITY DONATION MAKES A LASTING IMPACT IN GHANA
July 2026 – Following Aprirose's Christmas charity
donation, made on behalf of its investors and advisors in place of traditional
festive gifts, a pioneering sanitation project in Abenta, Ghana has delivered
outstanding results. Working in partnership with Village by Village, the
project is helping to reduce disease through improved sanitation, handwashing
facilities and hygiene education.
Aprirose funded the project at the Abenta village which focussed on ensuring 65% of children were washing their hands properly (in line with the UK average), putting in place a rainwater harvesting system and handwashing station within one month of funding. This was followed up by workshops, quizzes and interactive educational plays for the children to participate in.
In just six months, the project has exceeded targets set with 90% of children properly washing their hands before preparing food and after using the toilet with soap and running water – well over the target, and the UK national average.
Neil Kerfoot, CEO of Village by Village, said: “Within rural Ghana, our Clean Hands Saves Lives project provides sanitation facilities and behaviour change education for lasting impact. We build proper toilet blocks in schools, harvest rainwater, provide handwashing facilities and soap and educating children on the importance of hygiene. Our aim is to build a future where children in rural Africa do not die from preventable diseases. The results of this project have been some of the best we have seen so far, and we could not do this without Aprirose - genuinely. Me da se.”
Manish Gudka, CEO of Aprirose said: “Last Christmas, rather than sending traditional gifts to our investors and advisors, we chose to support Village by Village's Clean Hands Saves Lives project. Over 2,000 children under the age of five die every day due to poor sanitation and hygiene, and in Abenta there had been a cholera outbreak with several deaths. We wanted our Christmas donation to make a genuine, lasting difference, and we're delighted to see the impact it has already had. We look forward to continuing our support of Village by Village and other charities making such a tangible difference”.
